Unusual
and beautiful objects for the home and garden will be on
sale at Exbury Gardens over the bank holiday weekend.
Hampshire's
popular annual Beautiful Craft and Garden Show brings together
more than 50 makers and importers of jewellery, furniture,
glass, china, art, garden tools, pots, statues and chairs and
tables.
There'll
be top quality decorative glass from Romania, with a percentage
of the profits going to help a charity in that country; local
artist Rosemary Mackay will demonstrate the art of mural painting
and explain how she can brighten up your walls.
Photographs
as you've never seen them before are promised from Margot Grimwood,
while Norman Bishop will be bringing a range of marquetry tables,
cabinets and boxes.
Soapstone carving and other beautiful African art will also be on sale, as
will a new range of pewter ware and special gifts and fabrics from Morocco.
“We've
got a greater range of different crafts than ever before,” said
event organiser Gail Ingram. “Exbury is a wonderful venue for
a show of this kind and we know visitors will enjoy it.”
An
extra attraction on Saturday will be dancing from the Wickham
Morris Dancers who will arrive around lunchtime.
Entry
to the show is covered by the normal entry fee.
“Visitors
over the bank holiday weekend and the weeks following will
find the Gardens at their best,” said Nicholas de Rothschild,
whose family own the 200 acre award winning Gardens on the
banks of the Beaulieu River in Hampshire.
“We've just won more than 20 first prizes at top shows for our rhododendron,
camellia and magnolia blooms – our visitors will be able to see them in full
flower.”
The
Beautiful Craft and Garden Show is at Exbury on Saturday, Sunday
and Monday 1, 2, 3 May from 10.00-5.30pm. |
