The new edition of Hampshire County Council's flagship magazine Hampshire Now features a double page spread explaining how council tax is spent - after research showed that readers were keen to find out. The spring edition of Hampshire Now, sponsored by Wave 105 FM, is now landing on doormats and is available to pick up in petrol stations and supermarkets across the county.
The magazine is packed with useful information and articles about the County Council's work to address residents' key priorities, including details of road safety initiatives to cut accidents and increase use of public transport, an exciting new concept for libraries called Discovery Centres and how outdoor activity programmes are helping young people.
Informative articles about the services Hampshire County Council provides, such as how older people can make the most of the internet and the support Social Services' occupational therapists can offer those with physical disabilities, are packed into its 32 pages.
A special pull-out section inside this edition summarises how the County Council has performed in key services over the past year.
It highlights plans for future improvement and how the County Council is working with others to ensure the continued provision of quality public services and value for money. Hampshire Now also includes regular features, such as the `What's on' guide giving details of many events and activities coming up around the county, a useful A-Z of County Council services to help residents know who to contact about specific queries, as well as tips for those with green fingers from the Head Gardener at Sir Harold Hillier Gardens.
For competition lovers, there is the chance to win a meal for two and a night's stay at a top hotel courtesy of Hampshire-based Hildon@Home mineral water.
Leader of Hampshire County Council, Councillor Ken Thornber, said: "The spring edition of Hampshire Now is packed with informative and useful articles.
"Residents have told us what services are important to them. Hampshire Now aims to keep residents well informed of these services as well as giving details about how they can contact us for information.
Clear and on-going communications with our residents are essential if we're to continue to improve our services to meet their needs. I'm sure readers will find plenty of interest in this latest edition." |
