Children in the New Forest took part in a range of fun activities on Wednesday 4 August to celebrate National Playday 2004.
Youngsters had the chance get involved in local playschemes and events which were held across the Forest. In New Milton children took part in African Dance, arts and crafts and circus skills workshops.
They were also involved in dance activities led by Zimbabwe dance group, Black Umfolos.
The event was organised by Forest Bus as part of their summer programme.
Forest Bus visits communities in the Forest with their minibus and coach to provide a range of services to young people and their families such as after-school groups, fun games and activities, and parent and toddler sessions.
During the event, New Forest @ Play was launched, a three year strategy designed to support and aid the development of children's play.
The strategy is being organised by New Forest District Council, Town and Parish Councils, Hampshire County Council, Forest Bus and the Handy Trust.
"We are fortunate that children's play has such fantastic support from agencies and dedicated volunteers, who put so much time and effort into planning running playschemes for their communities," said Cllr Barry Rickman, portfolio holder for leisure at NFDC.
