Manor Infant School (Wednesday 14th July 2004) staged a garden party to celebrate the decision to keep the school open.
The School was among several sites reviewed in the Waterside by Hampshire County Council during an attempt to reduce the number of surplus places in the New Forest.
Councillors including Councillor Don Allen, Executive Member for Education, later agreed to merge Blackfield Infant and Junior schools and Holbury infant and junior schools making them into Primary Schools, but Manor and Fawley Infant Schools survived unscathed.
The garden party held in the afternoon, was attended by Hampshire County Councillor and District Councillor Lee Dunsdon with District and Parish Councillor Barbara Maynard.
The guest list also included Mr Robert Underwood the Principal of Hardley School and Sixth Form.

Head teacher Gill Hamer said: "Children, parents and staff are celebrating the fact that Manor Infant School is staying open, we are all so happy that our work at the school will continue”.
The evening disco celebration, was organised by Friends of Manor Infant school including Lucy Pullin and Lizzie Williams, who along with other parents supported the school all the way through.
