It
was a bright but chilly day as the parade of uniformed organisations,
led by the British Legion Fawley Branch Standard marched towards
All Saints' Church, for this year's Remembrance
service. (14 November 2004)
Putting
party politics aside for a time was the current MP for New Forest
East, Julian Lewis and the LibDem Prospective Parliamentary Candidate
Brian Dash, who joined with the local people of Fawley in paying
tribute to those who sacrificed their lives in war. Among those at the service were County Councillor Lee Dunsdon,
Parish and District Councillors: Cllr Barbara Maynard, (wearing
the medals of her late husband, Jack) and Cllr Malcolm Fidler,
Parish Councillors: Cllr Alexis McEvoy, and Cllr Bob Wapet, together
with Parish Clerk Malcolm Anderson.
The
message was brought home with the poignant words, "When
you go home, tell them of us and say, for your tommorow we gave
our today"
