Can't
fathom what to do about your pension? Need help with debt,
or want to
find out about grants to heat up your home?
If so, then you can come along to a one stop shop exhibition and advice
session at the Town Hall, the Grove, near Hythe Market, on Tuesday 23
November, from 9.30am to 3pm.
The session is organised by New Forest District Council, Age Concern,
Citizens Advice Bureau, Southampton Energy Efficiency Advice Centre and the
Pension Service and aims to provide local people with tailor made, expert
advice on energy efficiency, grants for insulation, pensions, money
management and more.
As an added incentive, anyone attending the session can enter a free raffle
every half an hour with the chance to win a prize.
Cllr Maureen Holding, NFDC's portfolio holder for health and social
inclusion, urged as many people as possible to go along.
"Many people are
not fully aware of all the grants and services available to them, or may be
confused about what they are entitled to. These free sessions provide
an
ideal opportunity for people to make their lives a little easier by finding
out about the support that is available in the area."
The Pension Service, based locally in Totton, is part of the Government
department for Work and Pensions and was set up in April 2002 to improve the
service to customers.
Advice is available in NFDC information offices on a fortnightly drop in
basis and the Pension Service can also visit customers who are housebound.
A home visit can be arranged by telephoning:
0845 6060265.
Further information on energy efficiency is available from NFDC's Home
Energy Conservation Officer Mary Rainbow on 023 8028 5607. |
