Appletree Court, Lyndhurst.
Free advice for small business is on offer at a special open day in
Lyndhurst in mid-October.

Mind your own business invites anyone wanting help on subjects ranging from training and taxation to the new Disability Discrimination Act, to drop in to Appletree Court, Lyndhurst between 3pm and 7pm on Thursday October 14.

Experts from all areas of business life will be waiting to answer questions and help with problems large or small.
The open day is run by the New Forest Business Partnership in conjunction with New Forest District Council.

"Small businesses are often hard-pressed to keep up with new legislation, training opportunities and information technology advances because they are pressed for time," said Christine Ames, NFBP chairman.

"But we have gathered together experts and business support agencies under one roof, giving a first class opportunity to cover lots of ground in one session."

Organisations giving advice include the Inland Revenue, ACAS, HSBC, New Forest District Council (planning licensing and environmental health), Business Link Wessex, Southern Entrepreneurs, HM Customs and Excise, the Federation of Small Businesses and Buy with Confidence.

During the session there will be three presentations. Hampshire Fire and Rescue will deal with business responsibility regarding fire regulations while Disability Dynamics have practical ideas to help comply with new
legislation.

Exor will explain the best ways to do business with local
authorities and how to approach the tendering process.
Refreshments will be available throughout the session.

"I am confident that many local businesses will jump at the chance to have their questions answered in one session," said Cllr Jeremy Heron, NFDC portfolio holder for Economy and Planning.

"This is an excellent opportunity both for networking and sorting out business queries."

Mind your own business is at Appletree Court, Lyndhurst from 3-7pm on Thursday October 14.
