Online Week.The
week is part of a new government initiative to introduce
older people to the web...At Blackfield Neighbourhood Centre,
near Hythe, the message has certainly been getting across.

hooligans have been waging a campaign against contractors
on a Waterside building site.Local
youths wanted a skateboard park to be built at Heather Road,
Blackfield - and were furious when work started on a £350,000
day nursery.

off our school, say worried parents

PARENTS at a popular New Forest school last night sent an
overwhelming "hands off" message to Hampshire
County Council after listening to a list of options which
could include closing it down. About 60 mums and dads turned
up at a special consultation meeting held at the 196-pupil
Blackfield Infant School, which is one of several in the
Totton and Waterside areas having their futures closely
looked at.

PARENTS in the New Forest have launched a campaign to save
one of the area's top schools. Families are furious at moves
to close the highly successful Blackfield Infant School
and merge it with an adjoining junior school.

CELEBRATING a Hampshire's school's 50th anniversary was
a piece of cake for one of its ex-pupils. Plant engineer
Mike Birkett, 56, was among the first children to be taught
at Blackfield Infant School, which opened in 1953.
