Your part in the Fawley Parish Council website is important
to us and we would like to see the photographs your shooting
using the latest digital technology which is now available.
Each month we will select and publish the best photos that come
in to the site - so start sending them in.
Remember, whilst we are after local news images from around
the parish, we're also interested in your visual interpretation
of both local and global issues as well as just great pictures
from your daily lives.
You can submit single images or a series of pictures that tell
a story, a photo essay, but please remember we do need some text
to accompany the pictures.
A guide to shooting a photo essay can be found below.
Any photographs directly relating to a current news story may
be used immediately throughout the website
Why not bookmark our Picture Gallery index which is the home
to pictures and essays and come back on a regularly basis to
look at the new photos.
How to submit a picture
If you have a photograph worth looking at, if you found yourself
in the right place at the right time, send it to webteam@tlc-online.co.uk Please don't forget to include your name and some background
information as to what the image is about and why you took the
picture as this will increase your chances of selection. If you

Guide to shooting a Photo Essay
Photos:
Ideally
you should aim to take a variety of photographs - it's a good idea
to plan the story before you start.
A good first photo would be one that introduces the subject
to the readers.
Makes sure you take some close-up photos as well as some wider
pictures to show the subject's environment but remember to include
something in the foreground to add impact.
When you take the picture, remember to look up or down to see
what's around you.
You might get a better shot if you kneel, or find a position
to look down from.
The completed photo essay will have no more than 10 photographs,
but you can send us more to choose from.
Make sure you have permission from anyone pictured before submitting
the photographs.
Words:
Each
picture will need a caption.
Who, what, why, where and when is a good place to start when
gathering information for the caption, but where possible quotes
from those pictured and a description of how you are feeling
will help bring the essay to life.
We don't need many words - no more than 80 per picture.
If you submit an image, you do so in accordance with our Terms
and Conditions.
In contributing to the Picture Gallery you agree to grant us
a royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to publish and otherwise
use the material in any way that we want, and in any media.
It's important to note, however, that you still own the copyright
to everything you contribute to the Fawley Parish Council Website
and that if your image/s is/are accepted, we will endeavour to
publish your name alongside it on the Fawley Parish Council website.
Fawley
Parish Council Online cannot guarantee that all pictures will
be used and we reserve the right to edit your comments.
